WOMEN'S HEALTH AND GYNECOLOGY

It encompasses all kinds of issues and diseases concerning our women.

It includes a wide range of health conditions affecting women's health and its reflections on the family, from ovarian cysts to fibroids, vaginal infections, urinary incontinence and urinary tract infections, trauma from falls and injuries, cancer, and preventive methods.

Diseases in the Fibroid-Cyst-Cancer group are diagnosed through gynecological examination, ultrasound, sometimes FMRI, and laboratory tests to determine if surgery, medical treatment, or phytotherapy is necessary. Your gynecologist will provide you with detailed information.

Urinary incontinence, vaginal laxity and prolapse, and labial hypertrophy fall under the category of aesthetic surgery and are featured separately on our website.

Vaginal care, vaginal infections (primarily yeast infections), vaginal and urinary tract infections are treated by taking urine and vaginal cultures and planning the treatment accordingly.

Information on maintaining the natural flora of genital organs' pH can be found in Dr. Ünzile Girişgin's YouTube videos and Instagram links.

During pregnancy, menopause, childbirth, postpartum period, sexual health, and reproductive difficulties, appropriate phytotherapeutic oils and tablets can be obtained from the Girişgin Family Counseling Center.

MENOPAUSE AND SEXUAL LIFE

One of the most significant turning points in a woman's life is menopause, the end of the monthly menstrual cycle. While a woman's reproductive process ends, her sexual pleasure and sexual life continue.

Due to the decrease in estrogen, the hormone that enhances beauty, femininity, sexual desire, and pleasure, women may experience hot flashes, sweating episodes, decreased sexual desire, and vaginal dryness.

By using herbal tablets and special gels suitable for vaginal pH, along with sexual counseling, we prevent the disruption of harmony between spouses.

Most cases of divorce or infidelity occur during this period.

Any unused organ atrophies, and every muscle weakens.

We recommend that our women do not live alone and continue an active sexual life even after menopause. It is not the right approach to say, "I'm past my prime" or "It doesn't matter anymore," even if the frequency is not as high as in their 20s and 30s.

If we do not want to experience frequent urinary tract infections, vaginal burning, or urinary incontinence due to vaginal and vulvar atrophy, efforts should be made to maintain a sexual life with counseling.

Menopause is also an important period for screenings for female genital cancers and breast cancer. Mammography and vaginal smear tests should not be neglected.

Any red or brown bleeding during menopause requires an urgent visit to a gynecologist, examination, and biopsy from the uterus.

IRREGULAR VAGINAL BLEEDING

In women, the menstrual cycle spans 21-35 days, lasts 7-10 days, and does not include intermenstrual bleeding. Some women may be aware of their ovulation period and experience a few drops of bleeding during those days each month.

Menopausal bleeding always requires a visit to a gynecologist.

Bleeding during sexual intercourse also necessitates a visit to a gynecologist. The most important symptoms of cervical and uterine cancer are bleeding.

Many women say they didn't come because they were scared.

I had a patient whose hemoglobin level dropped to 4, saying, "I didn't come because there was a pandemic."

Severe vaginal bleeding always requires an immediate visit to a physician.

Any vaginal, rectal, urinary tract, or throat bleeding during pregnancy also necessitates a visit to a gynecologist.

We do not perform vaginal examinations during the menstrual period, but if there is intermenstrual bleeding, we check for polyps or cervical lesions.

For irregular bleeding, we always test prolactin (milk hormone), thyroid hormones (for thyroid disease), ovarian hormones, and blood pregnancy tests.

Miscarriages and ectopic pregnancies should not be overlooked. Beta-hCG levels can also rise in some ovarian diseases, so it is tested for diagnosis.

All intermenstrual bleedings, irregularity in menstrual cycles require investigation and treatment in women.
